Stay (David Bowie song)

"Stay" is a song written and recorded by English singer-songwriter David Bowie in 1975 for the album Station to Station, released in January the following year. It was based on the funky guitar lick that dominates the track and which was invented by guitarist Earl Slick during the sessions for the album. In July 1976, the song was released as a single by RCA in the United States.
The verse and chorus structures can be traced back to "John, I'm Only Dancing ", a track recorded for the Young Americans album but first released in 1979.
