തിരുവനന്തപുരം - ചെങ്കോട്ട റോഡ്. It is a major interstate road connecting Capital City of Kerala Thiruvananthapuram with Thenkasi. In 2016 NHAI approved in principle this road as National highway.

Road Development

This highway starts from Thiruvananthapuram corporation limits and ends at Thenmala junction kollam District. From Vellayambalam to vazhayila near Peroorkada in City limits the highway is upgraded into a four lane road with the part of Thiruvananthapuram City Road Improvement Project Under Kerala Road Fund board. This stretch is the one of the busiest roads in Trivandrum. In 2016
the state government announced the Vazhayila to Nedumangad 12 km stretch is upgrading into 21m four lane road due to heavy traffic and pathetic condition of the road. Government approved the project and allotted funds for land acquisition and land acquisition is going on. Nedumangad to Thenmala stretch is developing into standard two lane highway under PWD kerala from the fund of various road project schemes.
In 2016 the central government announced that the highway is approved in principal as National Highway and developing the road and preparing Detailed Project Report DPR By NHAI under bharathmala scheme.
