Spencer Collier


Jack Spencer Collier is an American politician. He has served as a Republican member for the 105th district in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. He later served as the Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency until his dismissal in 2016.On January 30, 2017, Collier was named the Chief of Police for the City of Selma, Alabama. Spencer Collier resigned as police chief for the City on June 12, 2019 citing medical problems resulting from a back injury from a prior accident as the reason. However, he faced enormous scrutiny from the citizens due to his lack of communication,
work attendance and unfair treatment of citizens. His resignation was requested by Selma City Council member Samuel Randolph during a council meeting held on Tuesday, June 12, 2019. He was arrested on Thursday, June 14, 2019 for giving false statements to law enforcement. His estranged wife Melissa requested that he be made to undergo a mental health evaluation. Melissa was granted a restraining as a result of threats and physical abuse that occurred on Tuesday, June 12, 2019.
