Smoketown, Pennsylvania


Smoketown is a small farming village and a census-designated place in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, west of Bird-in-Hand at the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 340 and Pennsylvania Route 896. Also known as Smoke Town, it is served by the Smoketown Airport. As of the 2010 census, it has a population of 357.

General information

As of the 2000 census, Smoketown has a population of 119 in an area of 0.1 square miles. 115 were white, and 4 belonged to two or more races. There were 47 housing units, making the average household size 2.53 people.

Trivia

, the murderer of five young Amish girls, worked at the Good n' Plenty Restaurant in Smoketown, as did Lawrence Yunkin and Lisa Michelle Lambert, who murdered Laurie Show in Lancaster on December 20, 1991.
