Slaves to Gravity

Slaves to Gravity were an alternative rock band formed in the summer of 2006 in London, England.

Scatter The Crow

Slaves To Gravity were formed by the three remaining members of London-based band The Ga Ga's, along with Mark Verney, formerly of Ariel-X, in 2006. Citing influences including Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.
Throughout late 2006 and early 2007 the band toured both the UK and US extensively, as well recording their debut self-produced album at The Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire in the summer of '07.
Mixed by Chris Sheldon and released early in 2008 on their own 'Gravitas' label, Scatter The Crow featured 4 top 10 UK rock chart singles, and helped the band on its way to win the coveted 'Best British Newcomer' prize at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards.
Throughout 2008 the band continued to tour, playing several headline runs as well as support slots with The Goo Goo Dolls and Aiden along with Icelandic band Sign.

Underwaterouterspace

Following an appearance at SXSW alongside Gallows and Bring Me The Horizon the band returned home to begin demoing the new material they had amassed over the course of the last year of touring. In the summer of 2009, Slaves To Gravity entered Monnow Valley Studios in South Wales with US producer Bob Marlette to begin tracking what would become UNDERWATEROUTERSPACE.
Recorded over a period of 3 weeks before being mixed at producer Marlettes own Black Lava Studio in LA, the album's release was ultimately delayed by over 18 months owing to a combination of personnel changes and increasing financial constraints.
In the absence of a solid release date for the new record the band toured the UK with Black Spiders, Lacuna Coil, Alter Bridge and Buckcherry as well as playing a number of UK Festivals including Sonisphere and Download.
Finally released in early 2011, UNDERWATEROUTSPACE received largely positive reviews, but the band's prolonged absence, revolving-door line-up and behind the scenes label-wranglings had robbed them of much of their momentum.
Following a headline show at London's Intrepid Fox, the band announced on their Tumblr feed that they were to split and would be playing their last show at the Relentless Freeze Festival at Battersea Power Station on 28 October 2011.
