Sir Lionel Tollemache, 1st Baronet


Sir Lionel Tollemache, 1st Baronet of Helmingham Hall in Suffolk, was an English baronet.

Origins

He was the son and heir of Lionel Tollemache of Helmingham, by his wife Susanna Jermyn, a daughter of Sir Ambrose Jermyn of Rushbrooke in Suffolk. He was baptised 10 December 1562 at Helmingham.

Career

He served twice as High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1593 and 1609. On 22 May 1611 he was created a baronet "of Helmingham Hall in the County of Suffolk" in the Baronetage of England, and subsequently was knighted at the Palace of Whitehall on 24 May 1612.
