Siniša Saničanin


Siniša Saničanin is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serbian SuperLiga club Vojvodina and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Born in Prijedor, Saničanin started career with local club Rudar in 2013. In the first season with the first team, he played just 2 matches with 1 start. After the end of his youth career, the club was relegated to the First League of RS, after which Saničanin became a standard player in the defensive line and made 22 league appearances with 1 goal, and also played 3 cup matches. He then moved to Borac Banja Luka. Playing for that club, he made 18 appearances and scored 1 goal in the Bosnian Premier League.
In the winter break of the 2015–16 season, Saničanin was linked with a move to Italian Serie A club Udinese and Serbian SuperLiga club Partizan. He also spent several days training with Borac Čačak, but he finally signed with Mladost Lučani on 22 January 2016. On the last day of the summer transfer window of 2017, Saničanin moved to Vojvodina, on a three-year-deal. In late July 2019, Saničanin extended his contract with Vojvodina until June 2021.

International career

Saničanin represented Bosnia and Herzegovina on under-19 and under-21 levels.
In March 2020, he received his first senior call-up, for UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs against Northern Ireland.
