Sinapali


Sinapali is the main village in Sinapali Tehsil in the south of Nuapada District in Odisha, India.
It is located on the Udanti River, south of the district headquarters of Nuapada and from Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar. The village has a Gram panchayat. Its total geographical area is.

Culture

Many Sinpali writers have made significant literary contributions. Poets such as Damodar Patra, Manohar Meher, Narayan Bharas Meher, Kandarp Panda, and Gayadhar Patra wrote in Odia during the pre-Independence era. However, the region was included in the Central Province.
Damodar is famous for writing the letter Malashri, a poetic form used mainly when praying to the goddess Durga. His 40 works have been preserved in the History and Archeology Department of Sambalpur University. Manohar Meher is also famous for his work, although most of his pieces have remained unpublished. Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra is a well-known folklorist, and his writings include Passeema Odisha folk culture, Kalahandira Loka Sanskriti, oral poetry of Kalahandi, and oral epics of Kalahandi. Dr. Harekrishna Meher is a creative writer, poet, and translator. He has translated Gangadhar Mehar's tapaswini from English, Hindi, and Sanskrit languages and Meghduta into the Sambalpuri language. Chandi Charan Bishi, Benudhar Pandey, Manoj Mehar, and Gobinda Sahu have also made their place in the fields of their writing.

Economy

Sinapali's economy, like the rest of the Nuapada district, depends mainly upon its agricultural and forestry activities. Locals produce non-timber forest products such as the mahua flower, harida, bahada, and tol. Local agriculture is challenging due to limited irrigation facilities.

Jogimath Brahmanpada, Jharia, Thipakhol, Mulabasa Dam, Liad Project, and Chaura Dangar are the notable tourist areas around Sinapali. Chauta Dangar is the highest mountain range of the Nuapada district, with an elevation of above sea level. The are many caves and natural areas. The elephant-shaped mountain can be spotted from any part of the region. The Samaleswari temple of Baijalpur, the Durga temple, and the Jagannath temple of Sinapali are also tourist destinations. Chhatar Yatra festival during Dashahara attracts many devotees.
