Simon Bowes-Lyon
Sir Simon Alexander Bowes-Lyon is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and was Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire from 1986 to 2007. He was created a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2005.
He was born in 1932, the son of Sir David Bowes-Lyon, who also served as Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, and Rachel Pauline Spender-Clay, younger daughter of Herbert Henry Spender-Clay.
On 11 April 1966, he married Caroline Mary Victoria Pike and they have four children:
- Rosemary Pema “Rosie” Bowes-Lyon, married on 7 September 1996 to Nicholas David Kirkland Glazebrook, they have three children.
- Fergus Alexander Bowes-Lyon, married in 2000 to Frances Margaret Anne Harris, they have two children.
- David Victor Bowes-Lyon, married in 2002 to Jennifer Hurst, they have one son.
- Andrew Simon Bowes-Lyon, married on 2 June 2012 to Melanie Fletcher, they have one daughter.
Sir Simon Bowes-Lyon currently resides in St Paul's Walden Bury
