Sierra Nevada brushfinch


The Sierra Nevada brushfinch is a species of bird in the family Passerellidae.
It is found in the undergrowth of humid forests, especially near the edges, at altitudes of in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia.

Taxonomy

The Sierra Nevada brushfinch was often treated as a subspecies of the stripe-headed brushfinch, but was determined a distinct species on the basis of differences in vocalization, plumage, and genetics. The SACC split the group in 2010.
