. It down-regulates
B lymphocyte
antigen
receptor signaling, and is
required
for
immunological tolerance
e.g. in
mice
.
Loss of function
mutations
in
SIAE
are much more
frequently
found in humans with
autoimmune diseases
especially
rheumatoid arthritis
and
type 1 diabetes
.
