Shishir Ahmed


Shishir Ahmed is a Bangladeshi guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, who is the lead guitarist and keyboardist of rock band Aurthohin.
He is also former guitarist, songwriter and founder of progressive rock band dNA.

Biography

Early life

Mir Ashfaquddin Ahmed Shishir was born on February 22, 1982 in Dhaka.

Koprophilia, Neuroses and dNA

Shishir started his music career in 1998, when he joined the band "Koprophilia" as a guest guitarist. He continued to play with the band till the year 2000. In 2001 he joined the band "Neuroses" as a full-time guitarist. But in 2002 "Neuroses" broke up. In 2003 he made his return to the music scene by creating the band DNA. At that time he also started playing the keyboards. Then later that year Aurthohin was impressed by his skills and performance and recruited him to their lineup as a full-time guitarist and keyboardist.

Aurthohin

Shishir joined aurthohin in 2003 & just after that they start recording their 4th studio album "Dhrubok". Shishir did majority of the Guitar stuffs & all the key works."Dhrubok" was a big hit & shishir was spotted by critics & fans.
In 2004–05 with Aurthohin release couple of their most hit singles Epitaph,Boyosh & Itihash.
After a long break they release their 5th studio album "Aushomapto 1".
In this album shishir with kamal did an epic 6 solo song "Guti-the finale".It was the final part of aurthohin's mega hit guti series.
In 2011 Aurthohin release their 6th studio album "Aushomapto 2".
Couple of shishir's notable playing from the album is "Cancer", "Nikkristo-2" & "Surjo-2"

Influence

Shihir Ahmed mostly plays alternative metal and progressive metal music. He stated interview that he was very much influenced by Marty Friedman. Shishir quoted,
