Shanbeh


Shanbeh is the name of the first day of the week in the Solar Hejri calendar, mainly used in Iran and Afghanistan. It is equivalent to Sabbath on Saturday of the Gregorian Calendar.
The name of the rest of the days of the week are: Yek-shanbeh = Sunday ; Dó-shanbeh = Monday ; Seh-shanbeh = Tuesday ; Chahār-shanbeh = Wednesday ; Panj-shanbeh = Thursday ; Jom'eh = Friday, which is an Arabic word. The Persian equivalent is Ādīné آدینه.
