Shailendra Singh (entrepreneur)


Shailendra Singh is an Indian entrepreneur, film producer and author. He has produced 72 films, including Makdee, Phir Milenge, Page 3 and Dhol.
He served as MD of Percept Group, a media and entertainment company. In March 2017, Singh resigned from Percept and still owns 50% share in the company.
He won the Best Feature Film award for Tamil film Kanchivaram at 55th National Film Awards in 2009.

Early life

He hails from Uttar Pradesh and holds a B.Com degree.

Career

Singh served as the joint MD of Percept Group and was associated with the company since shortly after Percept was founded in 1984 by his brother Harindra Singh.
In 2007, Shailendra Singh launched two music festivals – Sunburn Festival, an electronic dance music festival, and Metalfest, a metal music festival.
In 2013, he authored a book, F?@K Knows, published by Rupa Publications. It was ranked #1st in Hindustan Times' Nielsen top 10 lists of the Best non-fiction books chart and ranked at the #1 spot on the Crossword Bookstores top ten list. His second book, True Story of Sunburn was published in November 2014. Singh released his third book, F?@K Knows: Dead or Alive, a sequel to F?@k knows published by Rupa Publications in 2018.
Shailendra launched Guestlist4Good, an entertainment-for good social enterprise in January 2017.
