Shaan Hundal


Shaan Singh Hundal is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League.

Early life

Hundal was born in Brampton, Canada to parents from Punjab in India. He began playing soccer at age six with Caledon SC.

Club career

Toronto FC II

On September 1, 2016, Hundal signed his first professional contract with Toronto FC II, becoming the 11th player from Toronto FC's Academy to sign a professional contract with the reserve side. He made his professional debut on April 9, 2016 in a 2–1 victory over FC Montreal. Featuring regularly for the reserve side, he later scored his first goal for the club in a 3–1 defeat to Wilmington Hammerheads on May 30, 2016.
During Hundal's his first season in 2016, he was recognized as one of the top young players in the USL Championship and featured on the USL 20 under 20 list. The list features the top 20 standouts under the age of 20 years old in the league. At age 17, Hundal appeared No. 13 on the list. The following season in 2017, Hundal stock had rose and had reappeared on the list, however this time he moved up to No. 4 on the list.

Loan to Ottawa Fury

On March 6, 2019 Hundal was loaned to USL Championship club Ottawa Fury FC for the 2019 season. He was recalled by Toronto FC II in June.

Valour FC

On July 17, 2020, Hundal signed with Canadian Premier League side Valour FC.

International career

At the international level, Hundal is eligible to represent Canada by birth and India through his parents. In 2014, Hundal made his debut in the Canadian youth program at the age of 15, and had featured in Under-15, Under-16 and Under-18 camps by the time he had turned 16.
In November 2016, Hundal was called to the Canadian U20 national team for friendlies against Honduras. In February 2017, Hundal was named to Canada's roster for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship

Personal life

Shaan Hundal graduated from Blyth Academy in 2017. He is of Punjabi heritage.
