Serhiy Shkarlet
Serhiy Mykolayovych Shkarlet is a Ukrainian economist and politician. On 25 June 2020, he was appointed as the Acting Minister of Education and Science.Biography
He graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Shkarlet is a Doctor of Economics, Professor.
Since May 2010, he served as rector of the Chernihiv State Technological University. In June 2020 Ukrainian media began to accuse Shkarlet of plagiarism in his scientific works.
From 2010 to 2015, he was a member of the Chernihiv Oblast Council for Party of Regions. In the 2015 Ukrainian local elections he unsuccessfully tried to get reelected, this time on the party list of Petro Poroshenko Bloc.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science for European Integration.
Right before Mr. Shkarlet was appointed Minister, significant volumes of plagiarism were discovered in his scientific publications.
