Sanae Takasugi
Sanae Takasugi was a Japanese film and television actress.Career
Born in Asakusa, Takasugi first performed in a dance hall before joining the Shochiku studio in 1934. She made her screen debut in Yasujiro Shimazu's Tonari no Yae-chan, and had her first starring role in Keisuke Sasaki's Yama no yūyake. She married the kabuki actor Ichikawa Danshirō III in 1938, and continued to act in film and later television. She received a Golden Glory Award at the Japanese Movie Critics Awards in 1994.
She mothered three children: the kabuki actors Ichikawa Ennosuke III and Ichikawa Danshirō IV, and the actress Yasuko Ichikawa. She is the grandmother of the actors Ichikawa Ennosuke IV and Teruyuki Kagawa.Films
