SVP Worldwide

SVP Worldwide is an American private company that designs, manufactures, and distributes consumer sewing machines and accessories around the world under three brands: Singer, Husqvarna Viking, and Pfaff.

History

SVP was formed when Kohlberg & Company, an American private equity firm that owned the Swedish VSM Group, combined VSM with Singer, which it acquired in 2004 for $134 million.
In 2018, Kohlberg & Company sold SVP Worldwide to Ares Management, a publicly traded global asset manager based in Los Angeles.
Management of SVP Worldwide is divided between the United States and Sweden. The company was founded in 2006 and was formerly headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Martha Stewart partnership

In April 2007, SVP Worldwide and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia announced a long-term endorsement deal by Martha Stewart to promote SVP's machines and accessories. In March 2008 it was announced that SVP would be an underwriter for Martha's shows Everyday Food and Everyday Baking from Everyday Food televised on PBS.
