SIE Japan Studio


Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio is a Japanese first-party video game production and development arm of the parent company Sony Interactive Entertainment, most well known for the Ape Escape, LocoRoco, Patapon, Gravity Rush, and Knack series.

Japan Studio operates as part of SIE Worldwide Studios. The development group also includes Team Ico, who are best known for PlayStation 2 games, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and Project Siren known for the Siren series, and the PlayStation Vita games Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice. Within Sony, Sugar & Rockets, an internal development team previously known as Exact, worked on games such as Ghost in the Shell, Popolocrois, Jumping Flash!, Robbit Mon Dieu, and .

ASOBI Team

ASOBI Team is a division of Japan Studio founded in 2012 by Frenchman Nicolas Doucet, who previously worked for SCE London Studio and Saffire. In February 2020, Doucet was promoted to president of Japan Studio, succeeding Allan Becker.
