Ryfylke Tunnel
The Ryfylke Tunnel is an underwater road tunnel and is on the Norwegian National Road 13 between North-Jæren and Ryfylke under the Horgefjord in Rogaland. The tunnel is part of the Ryfast project. It is 14.4 km long and is the world's longest and deepest subsea road tunnel until Boknafjord Tunnel opens at 2025–2026.
The tunnel is designed for 10,000 vehicles per day and is built with one tube for each traffic-direction, and two vehicular lanes in each tube. The entrance on the Ryfylke side is about 1 km north of Solbakk in Strand municipality. On the "city side", of Ryfylke Tunnel will the entrance be on Hundevåg island in Stavanger municipality. Construction began in 2013, and the tunnel opened on December 30, 2019. A half marathon was held in the tunnel on October 5, 2019.
The use of the tunnel will cost 140 in toll money for vehicles in tariff group 1 from March 2020, zero-emission vehicles will pay 56 Norwegian kroner. Tariff group 2 must pay 420 norwegian kroner.
