Ruthenian Catholic Archeparchy of Smolensk


The Ruthenian Catholic Archeparchy of Smolensk or Smoleńsk of the Ruthenians is a former eparchy of the Ruthenian Uniate Church in part of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth facing annexation by the Czarist Russian empire, with episcopal see in Smolensk, now in Smolensk Oblast, Russia.

History

It was established in 1625 on Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth territory, previously without proper Ruthenian Catholic jurisdiction.
It was suppressed in 1778, without successor jurisdiction, at its last incumbent's death.
