Ruth Frankenberg
Ruth Alice Emma Frankenberg was a British–American sociologist and feminist, known for her pioneering work in the field of whiteness studies.
Ruth Frankenberg was the daughter of Ronald Frankenberg, who was also an anthropologist, and Alison Sherratt. Her partner Lata Mani is also an anthropologist. She is the author of White Women, Race Matters: The Social Construction of Whiteness.
Born in Wales, she was educated in Cambridge and at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
