Russian pavilion The Russian pavilion houses Russia's national representation during the Venice Biennale arts festivals .Background Organization and building The Russian pavilion was designed and built between 1913 and 1914. Its architect, Alexey Shchusev , used motifs from 17th and 18th century Russian architecture . In 1922, 1938—1954, and 1978—1980 pavilion was closed.
