Roslyn Estates, New York


Roslyn Estates is a village in Nassau County, New York, in the United States. It is considered part of the Greater Roslyn area, which is anchored by the village of Roslyn. The population was 1,251 at the 2010 census.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,210 people, 401 households, and 354 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,727.7 people per square mile. There were 410 housing units at an average density of 924.3 per square mile. The racial makeup of the village was 93.22% White, 0.17% African American, 4.88% Asian, 1.24% from other races, and 0.50% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.23% of the population.
There were 401 households out of which 46.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.3% were married couples living together, 6.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 11.7% were non-families. 9.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.02 and the average family size was 3.22.
In the village, the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 3.4% from 18 to 24, 23.0% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.8 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $154,849, and the median income for a family was $157,402. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $65,893 for females.
