Rory Keenan


Rory Keenan is an Irish actor.

Early life

Born in Dublin, Ireland, he attended the Samuel Beckett Centre in Trinity College.

Career

Primarily a stage actor, he has worked extensively in theatre in London. As well as frequently performing in the West End, he has worked in film and TV from a young age. Most recently he has performed in BAM, New York and Wyndhams Theatre in the West End as Jamie in Long Day's Journey Into Night directed by Sir Richard Eyre, and at The Donmar Warehouse in Saint Joan and Welcome Home Captain Fox! He was also seen recently in BBC's War & Peace and Peaky Blinders
Previous work at The Royal National Theatre includes The Kitchen, Damned By Despair and Liola, as well as the acclaimed Philadelphia Here I Come and Dublin Carol at the Donmar Warehouse.
He has performed many leading roles in Ireland, having worked from an early age at The Abbey Theatre, as well as the title roles in Hamlet and Macbeth. He was also named Best Supporting Actor at The Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards for his role in The Last Days Of The Celtic Tiger
On television he appeared as Eric in RTE's 2017 drama Striking Out and in 2018 as Leopold in the BBC's Versailles.
