Roman Catholic Diocese of Chioggia


The Italian Catholic Diocese of Chioggia is in the Veneto. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Venice.

History

in antiquity was known as Fossa Clodia; in the Middle Ages as Clugia. In 1106, Enrico Grancarolo, Bishop of the island of Malamocco, then nearly deserted, transferred his see to Chioggia.
