Roberto Musci


Roberto Musci is an Italian music composer, performer, saxophonist and guitar player and video maker. From 1974 to 1985 he travelled around the world to study African, Indian, and Near & Far Eastern music, make field recordings and collect musical instruments. He combined non-European music, recorded " on field " and played with ethnic musical instruments, with contemporary music,with musical techniques derived from plunderphonics and musique concrète to create a personal musical language with which he tells stories and feelings related to his travels.
He has recorded LPs and CDs for different European labels, including:
Raw Material Victò, Lowlands, Gonzo Multimedia, Leaves, Island Records, Music from Memory, Soave and Recommended Records). He composed and played music for films, videos commercial spots, dance, live soundtracks for silent movie, music for poems and theater. The LP "Water messages on desert sand", was Grammy-nominated in the UK in 1987.
