Robert W. Marshall
Robert W. Marshall is an American priest of the Catholic Church who has been appointed bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana.Biography
Marshall was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Christian Brothers High School and Christian Brothers University there, graduating with a bachelor's degree in history in 1980. In 1983 he earned a law degree at the University of Memphis. He then practiced law for twelve years in St. Louis, Missouri, and Memphis. He entered Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans in 1995 and completed his Master of Divinity degree in 2000. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Memphis on June 10, 2000, by Bishop Terry Steib.appointed him bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana, on April 21, 2020. His consecration and installation has been scheduled for August 20, 2020, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Alexandria. Seating will be limited and face masks will be required because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
