Robert Tsonos is a Canadian theatre director, actor, and playwright. He has acted in, or directed, over 60 productions across Canada, Japan, England, Venezuela, Hong Kong, and Australia during his 28-year career. He was the Artistic Director of Sometimes Y Theatre from 1997 to 2014, was the resident director at the Canadian Embassy Theatre in Tokyo from 2003-2006, and is currently the Artistic Director of Watermark Theatre in Prince Edward Island. Robert’s directing credits include "Boeing Boeing", "A Moon For The Misbegotten", "Mrs. Warren's Profession", "Barefoot in the Park", "The Glass Menagerie" and Canada 300 at Watermark Theatre, Shakespeare's Will and Old Times at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Elisa’s Skin for TEATRELA in Caracas, The Goat at the Hong Kong Fringe Club, La Ronde for Temple University Japan, 'night, Mother at the Etcetera Theatre in London and the Dancehall Theatre in Manchester; Vigil, The Drawer Boy, and For The Pleasure Of Seeing Her Again at the Canadian Embassy Theatre; and A Doll's House and Proof for Tokyo International Players. Robert's theatre acting credits include "Dial M For Murder", An Ideal Husband, Romeo & Juliet, The Rainmaker and The Lion In Winter ; Macbeth, The Domino Heart and Problem Child, True West, The Qualities of Zero, Ines de Castro, Total Body Washout, and Romeo & Rosaline, Othello, The Grey Zone and Three Days of Rain. His film and television roles include "Mayday", "Reign", Packed to the Rafters, Rake, Warehouse 13, Push ; Twisted Sheets and Below the Belt ; Indicator, Pride ; and Off Record, Luck, Unbelievable. As a playwright, Robert's play It's Time won the Uprising National Playwriting Competition, placed 2nd in the 84th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, and was a finalist for the Herman Voaden Playwriting Competition. His play The Hum was produced in Hong Kong; received readings with NAAA in London, and Dezart Performs in Palm Springs, California; was a finalist for The Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition; and was published by Level 4 Press in "Regional Best 2012". His play William & James has been produced in Toronto, New York, Montreal and Ottawa with staged readings in Melbourne and Washington. His other plays include In His Name, Sharnoozle!, which toured international schools in Tokyo, the CBC Radio play Ice Age, as well as I Am Not The One, Running - 3 short plays, and the short film Coffee Dogs''.
