Robert Lang was an English] actor.

Early life

Lang was born in Bristol, Gloucestershire, the son of Richard Lionel Lang and Lily Violet. He was educated at Fairfield Grammar School and St Simon’s Church School.

Career

His TV credits include That Was The Week That Was, The New Avengers, 1990, Rumpole of the Bailey, Tales of the Unexpected, King Lear, Confessional, , A Dance to the Music of Time, The Forsyte Saga, Our Mutual Friend, and Heartbeat. He also appeared in The Return of the Borrowers, as Mr Platter in 1993. His films include Interlude, Dance of Death, A Walk with Love and Death, The House That Dripped Blood, Savage Messiah, The Mackintosh Man, Night Watch, Shout at the Devil, Rogue Male, The Medusa Touch, The First Great Train Robbery, Runners, Hawks, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Wilde. He played the Squire in Cider with Rosie, and his final film appearance was as Mr Osbourne in Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, screened a few months after his death from cancer in November 2004 at the age of 70.
