Biography

A golfer and professional poker player, Lakeman began playing Donkey Kong in 2011 after a friend challenged him to break into the world's top twenty players. During years of training, Lakeman broadcast nightly livestreams of his gaming sessions. On September 4, 2014, he beat Hank Chien's 2012 world record of 1,138,600 points with a score of 1,141,800. Lakeman subsequently entered into a long-running rivalry with Wes Copeland during which the two exchanged the world record several times.
Lakeman is also a former world record holder for the 1976 arcade game Death Race and the current record holder for the classic arcade games Stratovox and Super Pac-Man.
