Richard Burdick


Richard "Dick" Burdick, born on 28 May 1929 in Wyoming and died on February 25 2018 in New Braunfels, Texas, served as the International Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America from 1996 to 2003, after a long career with the BSA. While working at E.I. duPont de Numours in La Porte, Texas, he developed Heat Transfer Cement which became the basis of his company, Thermon Manufacturing, founded by him in Houston in 1954.
In 2004, Burdick was awarded the 299th Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting.
