Ram Arun Castro


Ram Arun Catro is an Indian actor who works in Tamil-language films.

Career

Ram Arun Castro studied engineering at Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Dubai. Although he had an interest in tennis, he turned to acting after gaining interest in stage dramas. He studied acting at the New York Film Academy, Abu Dhabi for two years before playing the lead in the period drama Oattathoodhuvan, which is set in 1854. In the film, he plays a mail runner who delivers mail during the British Raj and gained twenty kilograms to portray the role. The film premiered at several film festivals including Kolkata International Film Festival. His next film was the murder mystery V1. He bagged the role after the editor of the film and Castro's friend, C. S. Premkumar, who previously worked with him on Oattathoodhuvan, recommended him for the lead. In the film, he plays a man who suffers from nyctophobia and starred alongside Malayalam actress Vishnupriya. In a review of the film, one critic mentioned that "Arun Castro and Vishnu Priya adapt themselves well and shine in the given characters" while another stated that "Ram Arun and Vishnupriya are apt in their respective roles".
