Railway Workers' Union (Open Lines)


Railway Workers' Union is the oldest & 2nd largest industry-wise trade union of Pakistan. It represents over 90,000 railway workers all over in Pakistan. It is the affiliate of International Transport Workers' Federation London, which is the International Federation, representing more than 150 countries in different categories of transport. It is also an affiliate of Pakistan Transport & General Workers' Federation.

History

It is the oldest union in Pakistan founded by veteran leader Mirza Mohammad Ibrahim in 1948. Famous poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz was the 1st elected Office Secretary of the Union.
