Rafet Husović


Rafet Husović is a Montenegrin politician of Bosniak descent who is the current Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro. He is the founder and current president of the Bosniak Party, an ethnic minority party for promotion of interests of Bosniaks of Montenegro.

Biography

Rafet Husović was born in Rožaje, town in Northeastern Montenegro, at that time part of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro of SFR Yugoslavia. Having finished elementary and secondary school in his hometown, Husović graduated at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Pristina.

Political career

In 2006 he was one of the founders of Bosniak Party, a Bosniak national minority party in Montenegro and he was chosen as the first president of the new party.
He was a Minister Without Portfolio in 6th cabinet of Milo Đukanović and cabinet of Igor Lukšić. In December 2012 he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development in 7th cabinet of Milo Đukanović. After 2016 parliamentary election, he keep the same function in cabinet of Duško Marković.
