Plot

Sahiba is in love with her childhood sweetheart, Ranveer. Daljeet, who lives in the same village, falls in love with Sahiba. Ranveer is offered a job in London and leaves. In order to look for him in London, Sahiba urgently needs a passport and an easy way to get one is to be a married woman. She and Daljeet marry and leave for London. In the meantime, Ranveer finds out that Sahiba is now married and is settled in London. Assuming she has moved on, he gets engaged to the rich Jasveer/Jazz.
Daljeet finally locates Ranveer and convinces him to reunite with Sahiba. By this time, Sahiba has started caring for Daljeet but Ranveer is determined to win her back. In an accident, Ranveer kills Jazz's father and puts the blame on Daljeet leading to his arrest. He assures Sahiba that he would get Daljeet out from prison if she agrees to get back with Ranveer. Sahiba agrees to save Daljeet. Daljeet returns to the village and learns about what Sahiba did for him.
Sahiba becomes pregnant with Daljeet's child but miscarries. Ranveer finally decides to set Sahiba free not knowing that Sahiba is now expecting his child. Ranveer suddenly disappears and is believed to be dead when in fact he has been institutionalised in a mental asylum due to a case of mistaken identities. In his absence, Daljeet tends to the needs of Ranveer's family. Sahiba reluctantly agrees to marry Daljeet after seeing that this would please her family, but Ranveer arrives just in time. Daljeet is once again left heartbroken.
Daljeet finds the video footage of Ranveer killing Jazz's father and begins to blackmail him. Finally, Ranveer is arrested. In an accident, Sahiba falls in a hole and Ranveer, now in jail, manages to direct Daljeet to save her. He later escapes from prison and hides in Sahiba's house. Stressed with the situation, Sahiba requests Ranveer to leave her alone which upsets him and he goes to Daljeet's house. While Ranveer is driving, Daljeet and he fight leading to an accident in which Ranveer dies. Ranveer's father blames Daljeet and Sahiba for his death.

6 years later

Sahiba now works in a private orphanage under the name Anu. She doesn't remember her past for some reason but dreams about it. Fateh, the son of the owner of the orphanage, is Ranveer's lookalike. Anu and Fateh fall in love. Trouble erupts as Daljeet enters the scene trying to separate them and return Sahiba to her house. When she returns home, Sahiba learns about her past. Fateh follows her to take her away with him but is arrested with everyone assuming he is Ranveer. A blood test reveals that he is in fact Fateh. Sahiba's family agrees to Fateh and Sahiba's wedding when Sahiba's father in law introduces Jeet, Sahiba and Ranveer's 6-year old son. Fateh readily accepts him and promises half his wealth to Jeet. Once again, Daljeet is left heartbroken and agrees to marry another woman.

20 years later

Fateh has passed away and Sahiba lives with her sons - the older Jeet and the younger Ronak who is her son with Fateh. Jeet has grown up to be rude and is prejudiced against his mother. Ronak meets a girl named Heer, revealed to be Daljeet's daughter. Heer and Ronak fall in love and convince their families to agree to their marriage. Jeet decides to leave home and when Sahiba tries to stop him he tells her that he too has fallen in love with Heer. He asks Sahiba to choose between his happiness and Ronak's. A heartbroken Sahiba asks Ronak to either choose Heer or his family. He chooses family and Sahiba decides that Jeet and Heer will be married. Ronak is deeply hurt but Jeet reveals that he does not want Heer and only wanted to know if his mother loved him. He steps aside and Ronak and Heer are married and the family is reunited.
