Rádio Universitária 1570 kHz


Rádio Universitária AM 1570 kHz is the official AM radio station owned and operated by the Brazilian famed southwestern university Universidade Federal de Itajubá.
The radio broadcasts mainly non-commercial advertising, Brazilian popular music, university and city news, rock n' roll and reggae music. The radio station
started broadcasting at the very first day of its foundation, back in February, 1961.
Currently the radio employs three full-time employees and five university pupils working as "undergraduation monitors".
The recording, broadcasting and interviewing studios and main antenna are located in the city of Itajubá, Minas Gerais Brazil. The radio prefix is ZYL-242 and its director is university professor and electricity engineer Ismael Noronha.
