Pucajirca


Pucajirca or Pucahirca is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 6,046 m high. It is located in the Ancash Region, Pomabamba Province, Pomabamba District as well as in the Huaylas Province, Yuracmarca District north of Rinrijirca.
The mountain has three separate and independent summits: Pucajirca Norte, Central and Oeste.
The summit of Pucajirca Norte was first achieved on July 14, 1955 by Nick Clinch and Andrew Kauffman II. Erwin Schneider summited Pucajirca Oeste in the 1930s.
