Prince of Peace is a class 1-A school with sports teams participating in the Tri-Rivers athletic conference. Its team is named the "Irish". The school has a band, chorus, quiz bowl, yearbook, newspaper and student council.
It is competitive in Cross Country, dating back to when the school's cross country program began in 1989 under the guidance of Coaches John Riggins and Theresa Cordes. The Irish sent individual runners to State in both men's and women's competition in its program's first two years before the men's team qualified for the first time and took 2nd at the 1991 State Meet. On that team: Josh Dehner, Jerry Dehner, Jon Filitti, Peter Rastrelli, Tony Rastrelli, and Chris Stone. That same year, Stone--who previously had placed 15th and 5th in State, took the individual runner up. On the women's side, Ami Rastrelli was a consistent force, and along with Brandie Still and Aimee Motroni, formed the core of a team which dominated Eastern Iowa cross country in the early 90s.
Since then, the team has been state-ranked at times, winning District in 2006. In 2007 they were District Champion and the placed fourth at State.
Other sports that the Irish participate in include Cheerleading, Basketball, Track, Soccer, Golf, Baseball, Softball, and Volleyball.
