Popovo Municipality


Popovo Municipality is a municipality in Targovishte Province, Northeastern Bulgaria, located in the eastern part of the Danubian Plain. It is named after its administrative centre - the town of Popovo.
The municipality embraces a territory of 833 km² with a population of 31,479 inhabitants, as of December 2009. The Hemus motorway is planned to cross the southern part of the area.
