Pavel Đurković


Pavel Đurković was a Serbian painter and muralist. He was born in Baja, Austria-Hungary in 1772. He was an advocate of rationalism and Josephinism, author of numerous iconostases and portraits, painter of the iconostasis for the Church of St John in Sombor in 1809, and the portraitist of the works Justinijan Jovanović, Avram Konjović, young Vuk Karadžić, Miloš Obrenović, and Constantin Cantacuzino.
He died in Odessa, Ukraine, then part of Imperial Russia, in 1830.
