Paul Rickers

Paul Rickers is an English retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder and defender for Oldham Athletic and Northampton Town in the Football League.
He was widely regarded as a brilliant utility player and a favourite under Neil Warnock. One of Paul’s most memorable goals was a solo goal against Burnley, running the length of the pitch and tidely slotting it into the bottom corner, with the score ending 3-3, with another memorable goal being a towering header, much like Prime Maldini, against Wolves with the Republic of Ireland Goalkeeper standing no chance.
Sadly, Rickers’ professional career was cut short before 30 due to breaking both legs and his arm. He now plays for the over 40s England team in the Thailand World Cup, where they recently came 2nd in 2019 as Iran beat them in the final.
