Panton Records


Panton Records or PANTON was a Czechoslovak and later Czech record label and music publishing house of the Czech Music Fund, founded in 1968.
In Czechoslovakia it was one of the three major state-owned labels, the other two being Supraphon and Opus.
It was active until mid-1990s. Now its musical catalogue belongs to Supraphon.
Around the year 1998 Panton published a Czech record LP and SP boards. Genre was the music of all styles, which contributed to the development of musical culture in Czechoslovakia. The profits came mainly from the sale of works from popular music and helped finance the loss-making of works by contemporary composers of classical music. Panton published and spoken boards, eg. Recording memories Werich The Talk or the album of author Jiří Grossmann and Miloslav Šimek. He also published several books and Another book.
