Pakistan Embassy College Beijing


Pakistan Embassy College Beijing is a Pakistan International School located on the Embassy of Pakistan compound in Sanlitun, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It serves students ages 4–19, in Kindergarten through senior school.

History

The school was founded in 1969. It was originally named as Pakistan School Beijing. It was Beijing's first international school. It moved to a building with 14 classrooms in 1970 and gained secondary levels in 1975. It moved to its current site within the embassy compound in December 1980. As of June 2017 the school enrolled about 500 students, 50% of whom were non-Pakistanis, originating from 56 countries. The school, as of that year, had 45 Pakistani and Chinese faculty members.

Activities

Students occasionally visit other cities for international sports tournaments. The school hosts seasonal carnivals and other events.
The school conducts Spelling Bees, Debate Competitions, Quiz Competitions, etc. School clubs include Model United Nations, Literary Club, Arts Club, Community Service Club, the Society of Performing Arts, IT Club, Photography Club, Science Club, Life Skills Club, etc.
The school hosts a football field, gymnasium and basketball court. The school has facilities for table tennis and badminton.
