Paeonidae

Paeonidae or Paionidai, was a deme of ancient Attica, associated with the tribe Leontis. It was apparently the same as the Paeonia or Paionia, which Herodotus located as being below the Attic fortress of Leipsydrium. The site of Paeonidae is located north of modern Acharnes at the foot of Mount Parnes.
According to the second-century geographer Pausanias, the Paeonidae were supposed to have been named after Paeon, the son of Antilochus, who was the son of Nestor, and one of the suitors of Helen of Troy, who fought in the Trojan War.
