Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year Award
The Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year Award is an annual award given to the best manager in Minor League Baseball's Pacific Coast League based on their team's regular season performance. Though the league was established in 1903, the award was not created until 1952. Managers, officials, and broadcasters from the 16 PCL teams and media representatives in each city across the league vote for the winner of the award.
The only manager to have won the award on three occasions is Dan Rohn, who won in 2001, 2004, and 2005. Other managers with more than one award are Rocky Bridges, Stubby Clapp, Jim Lefebvre, and Jimy Williams, each with two wins. Lefebvre, Rohn, and Clapp won the award in consecutive years.
Six managers from the Tacoma Cubs/Tigers/Rainiers have been selected for the Manager of the Year Award, more than any other team in the league, followed by the Phoenix Giants/Firebirds ; the Tucson Toros/Sidewinders ; the Hawaii Islanders, Iowa Cubs, Las Vegas 51s/Aviators, Portland Beavers, and Salt Lake City Angels/Gulls ; the Albuquerque Dukes, Albuquerque Isotopes, Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, Oklahoma City RedHawks/Dodgers, Salt Lake Buzz/Bees, and Spokane Indians ; and the Edmonton Trappers, Eugene Emeralds, Round Rock Express, Sacramento River Cats, Tulsa Oilers, and Vancouver Canadians.
