Gerald E. Giannattasio reviewed the Stackpole version of Overkill in The Space Gamer No. 31. Giannattasio commented that "The Stackpole Overkill is a sound solo adventure. The excessive difficulty of some routes will involve frustration. Overkill rewards perserverance with enjoyment."
