Otjihaenamparero

Otjihaenamparero is a farmstead that is east of the small town of Kalkfeld in the Otjozondjupa Region in central Namibia. It is situated close to Mount Etjo off the district road D2414. Otjihaenamparero's importance is the presence of 170 million year old dinosaur footprints.
The footprints were identified as those of dinosaurs in 1925. They belong to at least two different species of the ichnogenus Saurichnium, Saurichnium damarense and Saurichnium tetractis. The longest traces in the Etjo Sandstone are about in length.
The site was designated a national monument in 1951.
