Order of Montreal
The Order of Montreal is a Canadian civil award established on May 16, 2016 by the Mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre.
The city held a design competition for artists to design the medal awarded to each honouree of the Order of Montreal.
The Order of Montreal succeeded the Académie des Grands Montréalais, a private award created in 1978 by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and terminated in 2015. All members of that order will become Order of Montreal honorees.
