Order of Genghis Khan
The Order of Genghis Khan is a state award of Mongolia. It is currently the country's highest state award conferred for distinguished citizens of special merit. Criteria for receiving the award includes building and developing a democratic society, familiarizing other countries with Mongolian culture and/or art and promoting the name of Mongolian culture in the world. It was introduced in May 2002 by President Natsagiin Bagabandi in honor of the 840th anniversary of the birth of the Great Khan of the Mongol Empire Genghis Khan. A person who is awarded the order is given a sum equivalent to 35 grams of gold.- Punsalmaagiin Ochirbat
